OT: Genesis 5:21-24

Reading:
And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah:  And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:   And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:   And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.

Commentary:
In his faith and trust in God, Enoch was in such close communion with God, that the Bible says Enoch walked with God.  He had reached such a high state of love for the Lord and obedience of His commandments, that he was in good harmony with the Lord's will.  While none but Christ has ever walked before the Lord as perfect and without sin, Enoch would likely be the saint among saints, according to the high praise that he "walked with God".  It was thus the Lord's good will to translate Enoch into heaven, without passing through death.  The body and soul then of Enoch were taken up (similar to Christ's and Elijah's ascension) and "he was not, for God took him."
